Link 01 · The first link
Head Trajectory.
Structure governs function. Function governs performance.

The structural foundation upon which every sensory and movement system operates.
Most performance models begin with vision. The TRAC Optics model begins one step earlier. It begins with structure.

The head is the body's primary orientation system. It positions the visual system, influences vestibular input, organizes proprioceptive awareness, affects fascial tension, and ultimately determines how efficiently the body can acquire and respond to information.

When Head Trajectory is optimized, structure is organized. When structure is organized, function can occur. When structure breaks down, function becomes compromised.

TRAC Optics is designed to restore this foundation. The goggles create a subtle downward head position that promotes proper Head Trajectory and helps organize the structures responsible for acquiring information.

Because before the body can move efficiently, it must first be organized efficiently.

Visual Acquisition.
Once structure is established, the eyes acquire puck location, speed, depth, trajectory, and the developing play.
When Head Trajectory properly positions the visual system, the eyes are able to converge, diverge, track, and process visual information more effectively.

Better visual acquisition creates better information.

Everything that follows depends on the quality of that information.

Vestibular Integration.
As the head moves, the vestibular system interprets motion, acceleration, balance, and spatial orientation.
Working directly with the eyes through the vestibulo-ocular system, the vestibular system stabilizes vision during movement and helps maintain body control.

The better the Head Trajectory, the more accurate the vestibular input.

The more accurate the vestibular input, the more stable the athlete becomes.

Proprioception.
The body determines where it is in relation to the puck.
Proprioceptive receptors throughout the muscles, joints, fascia, tendons, and connective tissues continuously provide information regarding body position and movement.

The upper cervical region plays a particularly important role because it helps establish the body's relationship to space through head position and orientation.

The more accurate this information becomes, the more efficiently the body can organize movement.

Biotensegrity & Fascia.
The body organizes itself to move — as one integrated tension system, not separate parts.
This occurs through a continuous network of fascia, connective tissue, muscles, ligaments, and tendons that function as an integrated tension system. This principle is known as biotensegrity.

The subtle downward head position encouraged by TRAC Optics influences this entire network. Through the fascial system and upper cervical structures, tension patterns become more organized throughout the body.

When the head organizes properly, the body organizes properly.
